四季彩8はタケシマキリンソウ突然変異種の中でも特異的な「花芽をつけにくい」特徴を持つ品種です。

タケシマキリンソウ種で開花しない特性種を突然変異技術で作成できる出現率は、淡緑色種に多く出現が、フォレストグリーン緑葉種で無開花品種を作出できる確率は非常に少ない

四季彩8は稀な突然変異種と言える。

Shikisai 8 is a variety that has the characteristic of being difficult to set flower buds, which is unique among mutant varieties of Phedimus takesimensis. The probability of creating a non-flowering non-flowering Bamboo Phedimus takesimensis  species using mutation technology is higher in pale green species, but the probability of creating non-flowering Forest Green green-leaved varieties is extremely low. Shikisai 8 can be said to be a rare mutant species.

ここまで放置すると、風や花序の重さで倒れて、新芽の成長を妨げるだけででなく景観を損なう。

メンテナンスを省力化する方法として、業界では「花の咲かない品種」が望まれてきた。

四季彩８はその要望に応えて開発した品種です。

プロトタイプ完成より３年経過した間「開花はセロ」。

将来開花の可能性も不明だが既存品種の中では開花しにくい品種と言える。

If left to this extent, the plant will topple over due to the wind and the weight of the inflorescence, which will not only hinder the growth of new shoots, but also damage the scenery. As a way to save labor in maintenance, the industry has long desired a cultivar that does not bloom. Shikisai 8 is a variety developed in response to that request. Three years have passed since the prototype was completed, and there has been no blooming. The possibility of flowering in the future is also unknown, but it can be said that it is a variety that is difficult to flower among the existing varieties.

キリンソウの草丈は30ｃｍ～50ｃｍに成長し、花は直径10ｃｍ程度の花序になるが、開花後結実すると黒色になり見苦しくなりメンテナンスに労力と廃棄物の量も多くなる。

四季彩８は最大草丈は20ｃｍ以内で花をつけにくい事から、剪定作業で出る廃棄物も少ない。

また、外見は中型の濃緑色葉で密生した草姿より、コントラストのはっきりした景観となる。
